PRINCIPALS REPORT
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are nearing the last 5 weeks of 2019 and teachers are busy conducting assessments in order to finalise semester reports. Reports will be sent home on Friday 6 December. Other important dates are also listed in the newsletter. Please take time to be aware of those dates to assist in the end of year planning.
Mr George Telford is visiting St Mary’s this Wednesday to observe teacher dialogue, questioning and feedback techniques. Mr Telford works with the Challenging Learning team and he has a range of strategies to share with teachers and students. The theme is ‘Stronger learning for stronger lives”. Once again it is wonderful to have quality professional development come to us. If you would like to learn more please look at the website www.challenginglearning.com and please feel free to come and chat with your child’s class teacher or myself.
Batlow Rotary are coordinating Carols by Candlelight at the Batlow RSL Club on Thursday 5 December. We are about to start learning some wonderful songs to perform. Parents and carers will need to accompany their children to the evening and we are hoping many of you can join us as well.
Tonight we are holding a parent and student session on My Body, My Life for students in Year 5/6 only. This personal development program is age appropriate and run by representatives from Catholic Care. Parents and students from St Joseph’s Adelong will be joining us as well.
Have a lovely week.
