This term in music with Ms Wild, the students have been working on RHYTHM. Each class group has learnt to recognize, draw and perform rhythms on percussion instruments, using notes and rests appropriate to their age group. The students have all embraced this learning and Ms Wild is very excited about their progress and enthusiasm. Congratulations to all students!

As well as experiencing the concepts of Rhythm, the classes have been learning new songs involving movement as well as singing and are enjoying it very much. Years 4,5,6 have been learning to sing a selection of "old time" songs, including When You're Smiling, You Are My Sunshine, Baby Face, If You Knew Susie and Deep In The Heart Of Texas. We are learning these songs with the aim of singing them to our elderly residents at the Batlow Hospital Day Care as soon as we are able.

Ms Wild says she is extremely impressed with the way all of the students have approached their music lessons. Their enthusiasm and participation has been fantastic and she is looking forward to introducing the students to more musical experiences next term. 

Next term Mrs Richards has organised a African Drumming Workshop for all the students.
