Dear Parents,

We have come a long way this year in achieving our goal: Every child will be a competent reader. A big congratulations to our students who are progressing each week in reading. We are so very proud of them!

We began this year implementing our new MultiLit resources with K/1/2, specifically called InitiaLit, and we have used other resources  in other year levels as well e.g. Macqlit and Reading Tutor Program and soon MiniLit.  Students’ progress is monitored on a regular basis and we are so pleased with the gains the students are making from week to week.

MultiLit is a systematic and synthetic phonics based program which delivers content explicitly. It supports students in knowing how to decode words so that as texts become more complex, they have the skills to decode any word. Reading fluency and comprehension are also the building blocks of the MultiLit programs so quality literature is an important feature of our literacy approach. When Covid restrictions permit parents on site more freely, it will be our pleasure to invite parents into school to the see the program running first hand. In the meantime, I have gathered some photos for you to have a glimpse of it in action.

My Body/My Life

Today our Yr 5/6 students were part of the My Body, My Life program to talk about puberty and personal development. This important topic involved some pre learning with parents through a link online from Catholic Care.

Remembrance Day

Our school will commemorate Remembrance Day this Thursday 11:00am via an online assembly which will be led by our Yr 6 leaders.
