PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
This week, we had Sommer Johnson visit to support teaching staff with High Impact Teaching Practices. This approach asks teachers to deliver content explicitly and is used across our archdiocese. At St Mary's we use HITP in Spelling, Maths and Initialit K-2. We can see first hand that students are more engaged and remembering content more successfully. Sommer teaches on the Gold Coast where she teaches a Yr 4/5/6. Her school is further along the HITP journey than St Mary's and she has much experience to share with us. Sommer has visited us twice now and will be back 3 more times over the next few terms.
