FROM THE REC
Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you all had a restful break and stayed warm! Term 3 will be a busy term again. We have a school Mass on Thursday 15th August to celebrate the Assumption of Mary at 12.15 pm. All families are welcome to attend this Mass.
Acknowledgement of Country
We respect and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together.
During the holidays we celebrated Naidoc Week. This year’s Naidoc theme is “Keep the fire burning!, Blak,Loud and Proud!
The National Naidoc Committee selected this theme to celebrate not only survival but also the relentless spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.”Keep the fire burning!” is a nod to the vitality and endurance and a nod to connection with country and community while “Blak, Loud and Proud!” represents an unapologetic celebration of identity.
I would like to finish this week by using the Aboriginal Our father as our prayer, acknowledging our Aboriginal people and their long enduring culture.
