Student Learning Journeys

There is a lot of research that makes the connection between parent engagement and student learning and in many ways, it is our responsibility to ensure that we are providing opportunities for parents to come in and make connections with their child’s learning space. This way, students also get to reflect on and share their learning with the people they love. We are very appreciative of the support for our Student Learning Journey visits this week and hope that, moving into 2025, we can provide more of these types of opportunities.

World Teachers Day

Late last week, World Teachers Day was acknowledged by many schools across Australia. With several staff away on Friday, we wanted to take the time on Friday this week to thank our teachers for their investment of time and energy at St Mary’s. Personally, I am very appreciative of our staff for the extra time and effort that goes into making our school a wonderful place to work and learn.

Trivia Night

Thank you to our families and community members who attended our Community Council Trivia Night last Saturday. We are really appreciative of everyone's contribution both leading up to and on the night. I am of the understanding that our host has been locked in for 2025! I hope it was enjoyable for all involved.

Uniform

Leading up to Term 4, I had flagged that students could wear their Summer or Winter uniform. As of now, it is expected that students wear their Summer uniform. I hope we get to continue enjoying the warmer weather throughout the term. If there are any issues regarding uniform, please contact Tracee or Sarah in the office or your child’s teacher.

Mass and Working Bee

As mentioned last week, Sunday 10th November, will be our last Children’s Mass for the year. We would love to see families attend. If you can join us for a BBQ breakfast, followed by a morning working bee, we would be very appreciative. Jobs will include, setting up our veggie gardens, planting trees, re-planting shrubs/our hedge, hanging a notice board, coating the school cubby to ensure it doesn't deteriorate in the warmer months, among other things. We would love to see you there - many hands make light work!

Book Fair

Tomorrow will be the last day for Book Fair purchases. Thank you to Mrs Murray and other staff who have assisted in coordinating this event. Eftpos service at Batlow has made purchases a little challenging and we appreciate everyone's understanding!

Enjoy the remainder of the week,

Ryan
