FROM THE REC

The staff of St. Mary’s joined with staff from St. Joseph’s Adelong and St. Patrick’s Gundagai for a Spirituality day with Maria Tolfrey from Catholic Education Canberra.  It was a day of self reflection; we were affirmed for the role we have in society and  learned the importance of self love.

On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. By early October the exhausted Australians were withdrawn from battle. They had achieved a fighting reputation out of proportion to their numbers, but victory had come at a heavy cost. They suffered almost 48,000 casualties during 1918, including more than 12,000 dead.

Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

Seasons for Growth will continue in Week 6 in the top classroom at 3:30 pm.

“May you have a life of blessings:

Blessings of goodness, blessings of joy,

Peace and kindness,

Friendship and love, creativity, strength, serenity,

Fulfilling work and dignity,

Satisfaction, success and sustenance,

physical health and radiance.

May truth and justice guide our acts and compassion

Temper our lives that we may flourish as we age

And become our sweetest selves.  Because what we are is God’s gift to us.

What we become is our gift to God.”           - M. Falk and E. Powell

Mass this term will be Sunday 1st December 8:30 am

We continue to bloom and grow at St. Marys
