LIBRARY
In library class this week the students were discussing what features make a great book cover.
In small groups the students used one of the Challenging Learning strategies 'Diamond Nine' to place the books in order.
The students had to discuss (and agree) on the specific features of a cover that made the book appealing enough for them to select it from the library shelves.
The aim of the activity was to have students engaging in discussion, determining the features that make a book appealing and to work collaboratively with one another as they justified their choices.
The students worked collaboratively and came to a group decision. The 'Diamond nine' is a great tool for engaging the students in dialogue.
Please remember that all students have library lessons every Friday. Please send their library bags in for borrowing that day.
