FROM THE REC
‘GREAT WOMEN OF FAITH’
This month we celebrate the ‘Great Women of Faith’. During this time we reflect on the lives of these special women who were dedicated to their faith and lived lives of love, compassion and service to others.
In the Catholic Church, holy days of obligation are days on which catholics are expected to attend Mass.
This Saturday 15th August, the Feast of the Assumption, is one of those days. To celebrate this day the children will participate in Mass on Thursday 13 August at 10:00am.
The Feast of the Assumption is the time we remember when Mary Our Mother was taken up to heaven, body and soul.

The Resilience Project
Last week we explored the GEM principle of Empathy and Kindness. This was the focus for our GEM award at Friday's assembly. Congratulations to Jessica, Ryley and Calee Bree.

These daily questions have been developed to help families practise the GEM principles. They are a great way to facilitate positive conversations as your family shares a meal either in the morning, afternoon or evening or at a time that works best.
Check out some great GEM questions here.
- Who is someone you know who may be experiencing some difficulty currently? What could we do for them as a family?
- Remember someone who has done something kind for you recently. What did they do for you?
- Say something kind to someone in your home.
