Dear Parents,

Students participated in Crazy Sock day today! Thank you to our wonderful students, and you too, for getting involved and supporting Catholic Missions with this simple gesture. Our ‘crazy socks’ added a bit of colour to our playground, and to the church as well, as we marked the day with a liturgy.

This Thursday is school photograph day. All students are to be in full summer uniform and bring along their best smiles. If all forms can be returned to the office by Thursday morning please.

Last week St Mary’s had registration and a panel from Catholic Education reviewed our documentation for compliance purposes. We did very well and the panel will now prepare a report of commendations and recommendations to support us in delivering education services to the Batlow community.

On a final note can I please remind parents to inform us of any student absences as soon as possible. Our recent registration process highlighted the following points:

• Class rolls are a legal document and scrutinised by the NSW government.
• Parents are responsible for their child’s regular attendance.
• Parents wishing to take their students out of school for any extended leave must apply to the Principal ahead of time and seek approval. A certificate will then be issued.
• Longer periods of leave are to be approved by the Education minister.
