FROM THE REC
This Sunday 15th August we celebrate the Assumption of Mary. It signals the end of Mary’s life on Earth and her return to be reunited with Jesus in Heaven. It is a belief of all Catholics and followers of the Catholic Church. Teachings of the Assumption of Mary began in the fourth century. The feast was then celebrated around the world and became official in the eighth century.
As the Feast of the Assumption falls on a Sunday this year we will celebrate with a special liturgy together next Monday.
