FROM THE REC
Sunday, the 8th of September is a special day for our school as we celebrate the life of our patron saint, Saint Mary.
Mary is honoured around the world as the ‘Mother of God’, she was a gift from God to bear the child who would bring peace to the world and did so humbly, living a life free from sin.
The 8th of September is known as the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or otherwise known as the day of Mary’s birth. Therefore we celebrate her for the joy she was to bring to the world by giving birth to Jesus.
To celebrate, a Parish Mass hosted by the students of St Mary’s will be on Sunday the 8th September at 8.30am. If your child would like to volunteer to participate in the Mass on this day, please complete the google form below:
This year our Archdiocese celebrates “The Year of the Holy Spirit”
As part of of this we are called to use our gifts from our Baptism to help shape our spiritual life and what we can do to share our love for others.
Come Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful,
and enkindle in us the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created,
and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Amen.
Have a wonderful week!
