PREMIERS READING CHALLENGE 2025
NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge 2025
Information for students in Years 3-6
St Mary’s School is excited to participate in the 2025 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC), again this year. The PRC encourages students to read for leisure and pleasure, aiming to broaden their literary experiences. It is not a competition but a personal challenge for each student to read more and explore a wider range of literature.
- Challenge: Each student in Years 3-6 is required to read 20 books to complete the challenge. A minimum of 10 books need to be chosen from PRC listed books and 10 books can be personal choice.
- The challenge concludes on FRIDAY 19th September 2025.
- Reading Log: The competition opened in February, so the students are welcome to back date their Reading Log with books they have read at home, class novels and books they have borrowed from the library.
Each student who completes the challenge will receive a Certificate of Participation from the Premier later in the year when the challenge concludes.
Registration: Please email the Office or Mrs Murray if you would like your child to participate. Each student will receive a password to enable them to logon on to the PRC site and register the books they have read.
If you require further information about the Premier’s Reading Challenge, please come and speak with me or view the PRC website:

We would love to have as many students as possible sign up and I will happily guide you though the process.
Kind regards
Mrs Murray
