5/6 EXCURSION
Year 5/6 visited Beechworth where they took part in a re-enactment of Ned Kelly's courtcase at the Courthouse. They then went on to visit the Burke Museum where they took part in a scavenger hunt before touring the Bilson's Cordial Brewery and sampling some of the cordials. The afternoon was spent touring the Beechworth Jail where students were shown around the old and new parts of the jail including the rooms in which Ned and his mother were both imprisoned. Students then dined at the Hibernian Hotel before a show by Lazy Harry where students joined in singing Bush songs and doing bush dances.
On Wednesday students began the morning with a continental breakfast before enjoying a walk around Lake Sambell. They then went on to tour the Beechworth Honey shop where they learnt how honey is produced. Students were given the chance to taste a range of the 50 different flavours of honey available! Students then split into two groups for a horse and carriage ride and a visit to the Beechworth Lolly Shop!! To conclude the trip we stopped at Wodonga for ten pin bowling before travelling back to school.
