Our new Kinder transition program for 2023 is now underway every Wednesday in November. We are excited to welcome Evie, Mac, Rafa and Jackson and love helping them to understand what big school is all about.
New Finance System
Tech 1 is our new system. St Mary's Batlow is one of the first schools in our archdiocese to become a Tech 1 school. Parents will receive new BPAY information regarding their account with us. Transitioning to a new system can have teething problems. If you any concerns or questions please don't hesitate to contact myself or Front Office Manager, Tracee Holland. We are more than happy to help.
Suicide Awareness Training
On Wednesday 23 November parents are invited to join St Mary's staff in a meeting run by Rural Outreach Counselling, starting at 3:15pm. The team will take participants through a 40 minute training session to support responding to someone who may be contemplating suicide. Please respond to the flyer below to register your interest.
Remembrance Day
Tomorrow is Remembrance Day, marking the end of hostilities in World War 1 in 1918. Year 6 students will lead us in a ceremony tomorrow starting at 10:45pm to solemnly acknowledge this significant day. Parents are welcome to join us at the school flag poles if they wish.
Have a lovely week everyone.

Remembrance Day
Tomorrow, Friday 11th November, we pause to remember all those who have died in the fight for the freedom we live in today.
St Mary’s will gather tomorrow to remember through prayer, reflection and a minute silence.
We pray,
Ever-living God,
We remember those whom you have gathered from the storm of war into the presence of peace;
may that same peace calm our fears,
bring justice to all peoples and establish harmony among the nations,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Children's Mass reminder
This Sunday, 13th of November, St Mary’s will present Mass. If you are joining us for Mass please let me know so I can give your child a special role.

Next Tuesday AMARA, THOMAS and LUCAS will be our radio announcers.
Tune in each Tuesday at 1.45pm to hear what is happening at St Mary's.
We are well on our way to achieving our goal with 40 hours skipped and so far, we have raised $622.
Our Jump Off Day is the 2nd December, so students still have plenty of time to register,
fundraise and earn prizes for their skipping efforts.
As all classes turn their attention to Biology for this last term in Science and Technology, Year 5/6 decided to focus on sustainability with a view to creating a vege patch at school. We started by focusing on how to go about using each classroom's organic waste for composting. Amara and Thomas, as Environment Leaders, will be in charge of this each week during Science. Students have paired up and each pair have the responsibility for planting out one of the 5 raised garden beds in the school. Next week we will do soil testing and research what can be planted to harvest before the holidays! It was a joy to see the students' enthusiasm.
