Hello Everyone,
Our Family BBQ is tonight at 5pm! The weather is perfect and your dinner is ‘on us’. We look forward to seeing you there!
Swimming Lessons
Students are swimming again tomorrow for their final lesson at the Batlow Pool for this term. They have really improved and well done to our teachers, and Emily our instructor, on a great program. All classes have been also focusing on water safety in PDH to support safety around pools, creeks, dams and at the beach. We will do swimming lessons again at the end of this year.
Toys at School
Students are to leave their special toys at home please, and not bring them to school. Students like to touch other peoples toys and it can create issues at recess and lunch. We have plenty of equipment available for students to use here at school.
Spelling Mastery
Our groups are up and running starting at 9:00am each morning from Monday to Thursday. Students are already in good routines. Please ensure your children are at school by 8:55am when the bell goes to start their morning lesson.
Mini Assembly
We are scheduling our Mini Assembly every Friday morning at 9:00am. If you would like to come along and join us for 15 minutes please know you are most welcome.
Have a lovely week everyone.

Yesterday we acknowledged the beginning of the season of Lent with an Ash Wednesday liturgy in our St Mary’s church.
Year 6 leaders shone as they hosted a reverent liturgy with some local parishioners in attendance. Thank you Year 6.
The season of Lent lasts 40 days to represent the amount of time Jesus spent in the desert — fasting and preparing for his ministry — and to celebrate, many Christians choose to make a sacrifice of their own over those 40 days. Luxuries like dessert or chocolate are commonly given up for Lent, or Christians may perform acts of kindness for others through volunteer work throughout the Lenten season, right up until Easter Sunday and beyond.
Students have been asked to think about their own Lenten promises during the past few days. They have been encouraged to decide if they would like to give up something or do more of something and be more for others during Lent.
What might you like to do more or less of for the next 40 days of Lent?I hope to see many of you at our family welcome BBQ this evening.
Have a blessed week everyone.

Year 5/6 dissected flowers for biology in science last week.
We used flowers from the school’s planter boxes.
Some of these grew from the seeds that 5/6 planted last year.
The students found out where new seeds are made within the flower.
The students were excellent biologists.
