School Community Council
Our School Community Council Executive met on Tuesday to discuss upcoming events and initiatives (one of these being the Western Region Cross Country on Friday 2nd May). If you’d like to get involved—whether by joining the council, assisting with fundraisers, or sharing ideas—please reach out to Sam Flenley or any of our St. Mary’s members. We’d love to have you on board!
Term Dates
As we approach the end of Term 1, please note that Friday, 11 April, is a system-wide pupil-free day across the Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) system. Students' last day of Term 1 will be Thursday, 10 April. Term 2 will commence on Tuesday, 29 April, following a system-wide pupil-free day on Monday, 28 April.
Cross Country
Congratulations to all our students who participated in the school cross country event! Your effort, determination, and sportsmanship were fantastic, and we are so proud of each and every one of you. A special shoutout to those who placed in their age groups—well done! Thank you to our staff and volunteers for making the day a success. Keep up the great work, and we look forward to more sporting events ahead!
Mackillop Swimmers
Good luck to our Small Schools Relay Team (Ellie, Hunter, Hayley and Phillip) next week, in the Mackillop Swim Meet at Sydney Olympic Park! We are so proud of everything you have achieved so far, and this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your talent on a bigger stage. Enjoy the experience, give it your best, and know that your school community is cheering you on. We look forward to watching the live stream next week and celebrating your achievements!
Life Education Van
Next Tuesday, we are excited to welcome the Life Education Van to our school. Life Education is Australia's largest provider of preventive health education in schools, empowering children to make safer and healthier choices. During their visit, students will participate in interactive sessions covering topics such as healthy eating, the human body, and social skills, guided by their beloved mascot, Healthy Harold the giraffe.
Enjoy the remainder of the week,
Ryan
I would like to say a big thank you to all of the families who came to the Parish Mass on Sunday. The parishioners love the children of St Mary’s being involved in their Masses, and it is a great way to connect with the parish community.
It is wonderful to hear that Pope Francis is recovering and has been released from the Hospital after 38 days. Pope Francis has thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time.
God, you love me as your own child.
May I bend my life and will toward you so that I might accept your teaching and guidance.
I am so grateful for your support in my life, now and in the eternal life you are preparing for me.
I beg for your help and Spirit in my life today.
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.
Have a wonderful weekend
