Vinnies Winter Appeal
Our Stage 3 class is running a special fundraiser as part of the Vinnies Winter Appeal — students can enjoy a hot chocolate and toastie next week for $5! Please refer to Mrs Dumbrell’s Compass post for more details. We also encourage families to support the appeal by donating warm clothing, non-perishable food items, or making a voucher or monetary donation. Donations can be brought to the front office or given directly to Mrs Dumbrell. Thank you for your support in helping those in need this winter!
Western Region Athletics
The Western Region Athletics event will be held next Friday, 21st June, in Young. Please keep an eye on the Compass platform for permission forms and further details. While a staff member will be present at the event, we kindly request parent support to assist with transporting students to and from the venue.
Excursion Information
Thank you to all the parents who attended the excursion meeting last night. If you have any further questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to check in with Mrs Dumbrell or Miss Collins. This is an exciting time for our students, and we encourage you to continue supporting them with their preparation. It will no doubt be a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
Winter Uniform
As we enter into the noticeably cooler months, it's a timely reminder that all students should now be in full winter uniform. Please ensure that every item of clothing is clearly labelled with your child's name so that any misplaced items can be quickly returned.
Enjoy the weekend,
Ryan

St Vinnies Warm Winter Woollies Appeal
Next Thursday, we will be holding our St. Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal. It is terrible to think that many people are homeless and sleeping outside over this cold winter!. Your support of the Vinnies winter appeal can help vulnerable people access ongoing programs and resources that can help provide the tools and the support they need to thrive long term. Next week, there will be baskets available in our front office to collect donations of warm clothing and blankets for this appeal. We will also be having a fundraiser on Thursday for a warm winter lunch. Students can purchase a toasted sandwich (ham and cheese or cheese) and a hot chocolate for $5. Staff at St Mary’s will be donating the supplies for this fundraiser, and Year 5/6 will be helping to prepare the food on the day. If you would like your child to be a part of this lunch, please place your order in a brown paper bag with their preferred sandwich choice and $5 by next Wednesday. (There will be dairy-free cheese and milk alternative for those that need it, please specify this on your order.) On this day, students are invited to wear their winter pyjamas, beanies and gloves.
The month of June falls within the liturgical season of Ordinary Time, which is represented by the liturgical colour green. This symbol of hope is the colour of the sprouting seed and arouses in the faithful the hope of reaping the eternal harvest of heaven, especially the hope of a glorious resurrection.
June 13th is also the feast day of St Anthony of Padua.
Called the Wonder Worker, he is one of the most popular saints in the Catholic Church and is implored as the patron of lost things. He is also the patron saint of sailors, fisherfolk, priests, and travellers. He is also often the Saint we pray to if we have lost something and need his guidance in finding these items. St Anthony devoted his life to working with the poor. He was a preacher and theologian and was declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Pius XII. I would like to offer a prayer to St Anthony.
I wish you all a wonderful week.
Jeanette Dumbrell
