- THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Mrs Richards is on leave for Week 9 and Week 10. We were lucky to have Mrs Baron have the day with us yesterday. Mrs Baron will be here again next Monday.
It was lovely for the students and Mrs Baron to have the chance to say goodbye.
It was unfortunate that this weeks Western Region Mass had to be postponed. It would have been a great opportunity for our Year 6 to meet children from other schools in our region. We are yet to be notified of a date for Term 4.
A reminder that we will celebrate our writing publication with a Mass at 12:00 noon with Miss Buckmaster and the 2/3/4 Class on Thursday 26th September. The children will be showcasing their writing publications to the school community. Bring your sandwich and join us on the oval for a picnic lunch.
Seasons of Growth is a programme for children, young people or adults who have experienced significant change or loss in their lives. The feelings centred around change are normal and are often fought against as we don’t realise that they are normal. If you are interested in your child being part of this program could you contact the school for further information.
Thank you to parents who have indicated they would like to know more about this program. I will be in touch with you this week.
We have some exciting activities for Mission Month early next term. Does your child have a plain white t-shirt that I can have to dye during the school break? If they do please send it in with your child’s name on it before the end of term.
Could I please ask you to take a quiet time of the day and say the following prayer for rain.
It was on the Gundagai Parish Facebook site.
Bless Australia – our Great South Land of the Holy Spirit.
Grant, that as the Cross shines in our Southern skies,
So may Christ bring light to our nation, to its people old and new.
May we receive the blessing of abundant rain so that the ‘desert blooms
with the life that lies in wait.’
We ask this through Christ, Our Lord.
We continue to bloom and grow at St. Marys
Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It partners with local churches in developing nations to reach out to children by providing gift-filled shoeboxes and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ. St Mary’s will again help reach more children with gift-filled shoeboxes for distribution to children in the developing world.
If you would like to participate please call into the office to get a box.
BOXES ARE DUE BACK EARLY NEXT TERM!
UNSEALED WITH $10 INCLUDED FOR POSTAGE. (Return date has been extended).
FILL EACH SHOEBOX WITH SIMPLE GIFTS
Include something from each of the 6 categories.
Something to wear, Something to play with, Something for school, Something to love, Something special and Something for personal hygiene.
Year 2/3/4 will hold their class Mass in Week 10, Thursday at 12pm. All welcome.
Please be aware that students will require their school hats from now on. The "No Hat, No Play" policy will take effect from the beginning of Term 4.
Please start reminding your children and we will do the same over the next 2 weeks.
A reminder that the St Mary's school uniform requires black shoes to be worn on Tuesday's, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Joggers are to be worn on sport days only, which is Mondays and Fridays.
Your support in this matter is appreciated.
Thank you to Breward Electrical for a donation to add to our Trivia total!
Our grand total for trivia has now reached $5,344.65
These funds will help to pay for all the improvements happening around our school.
On Tuesday 15th October (Week 1 Term 4) students in Kinder to Year 4 will sing at Pioneer's Night. Students are to be at the RSL Club by 6.45pm for singing at 7.00pm. Full summer school uniform.
Community Council are having a stall at the festival this year “Everything Apples” and Bev Sullivan is cooking lots of different apple items. We are asking parents and staff to help work on the stall over the day if you are available. It’s a good opportunity for our school community and we hope you get may be involved.
