We are proud to be part of an extremely community orientated town. We have a great sense of pride to endeavour to be actively involved wherever possible and believe it is vital for the future of the town to encourage our youth to be resourceful citizens.

Visiting the Elderly

Each term the children participate in fortnightly visits to the elderly at the Batlow Hospital to share their school work, sing songs, recite poems and have a chat.

CWA International Day

St Mary’s is invited to participate in the Country Women’s Association International Day each year. A country is chosen by the CWA for the children to study and complete a project on. CWA from surrounding towns then come to Batlow on the International Day and the school puts on a singing and dancing performance.

ANZAC Day March

Each year the children gather and march on Anzac Day with the school and the Year 6 students read and lay a wreath. We teach our students about this special celebration through our HSIE program each year.

Remembrance Day

On the 11th day of the 11th month each year, the students walk to the town cenotaph to participate in a special Remembrance Day service at 11am. The children are involved through reading and laying a wreath and have a focus on Remembrance Day in classes at this time.

Carols by Candlelight

The Rotary Club of Batlow organises the Christmas celebration of Carols by Candlelight each festive season where the children sing a variety of Christmas carols for the community.
