"The halfway point is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and gather momentum for the journey ahead."
The halfway mark of Term Three is upon us! As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, I am extremely proud of the many great achievements of our students and the commitment of our community to foster an environment of encouragement, high expectations and care. This was very much my own reflection…I encourage families to take the time to reflect on the growth of your children, with your children. This not only creates that connection with their learning but an opportunity to praise students for their efforts and get ready for the remainder of the term.
St Mary’s Feast Day, Children’s Mass
On Sunday 8th September, St Mary’s will celebrate the feast day of Mary with our Children’s Mass. We are using this opportunity to gather together afterwards, enjoy a bbq breakfast (our shout!) and participate in a working bee in the morning - kids included. Being Mary’s Feast Day (the name of our school!), we'd love to see plenty of our families attend this Mass and join us after. In regards to masses, there is certainly not an expectation that families need to be Catholic to attend - we just want to to gather as a community and celebrate our patron Saint.
Mrs Dumbrell has done up a Google Form, which will be shared in a number of places in the coming weeks. Please let us know if you can attend!
Tell Them From Me Survey
I do apologise for this being a regular post over the past few newsletters. Our Tell Them From Me survey closes tomorrow. If we could get a few more families to log on and complete this survey, it would be greatly appreciated. The more we hear from our families, the more we can continue to make our school a great place of learning and community.
Staff Professional Learning
On Tuesday 3rd September at 3.30pm, staff will be completing their compulsory First Aid and CPR training. If there are any community members that need/want to complete this training and would like to attend, please reach out to Tracee or Bernadette and they will let you know further details.
We are also really fortunate to have Sommer Johnson from CogLearn come and visit us on Wednesday of next week. Sommer will be supporting our staff with the implementation of high impact teaching strategies that are supporting students in the learning spaces.
Enjoy the remainder of the week,
Ryan
