This week, I had the pleasure of accompanying Year 5/6 on their excursion to Bendigo and Ballarat. It was great to spend some more time with these wonderful students. We visited some fascinating sites and learned many new things about Australia’s rich and varied history. I would like to acknowledge the wonderful behaviour of all the students, they were a pleasure to travel with and all of their parents and carers should be proud of what caring and responsible young people they are!
A reminder to all families that the St Vincent De Paul Christmas appeal baskets have now been placed in all classrooms and are ready for donations of non-perishable food items or small gifts for families struggling this Christmas. Any donations would be gladly welcomed, also small gifts that could be given at Christmas would be appreciated. If you wish to wrap the gift could you please add a tag of the gender and age group that the gift would be appropriate for. Thank you!
I would like to offer a prayer for peace this week. As we head towards Advent I am conscious of those communities around the world who are afflicted by war and unrest.
Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are Yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, “Peace to you” – please grant us peace.
Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice and brotherly love. Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace. Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace.
May all peoples on the earth become as brothers and sisters.
May longed-for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all. Amen.
(Prayer for Peace—St. John Paul II)
